The Religious and Scientific Significance Behind Celebrating Makarsankranti

I
ndia is a land of festivals, where people from different state and religions coexist harmoniously. The wide variety of festivals celebrated in India is a true manifestation of its rich culture and traditions. There are many Indian festivals and celebrations, the most exciting of most famous festival is Makar Sankranti. Let's trying to understanding scientific and religious meaning of Makar Sankranti.

SCIENTIFIC SIGNIFICANCE OF  HINDU FESTIVAL "MAKAR SANKRANTI"

Makar Sankranti festival is celebrated every year in the month of January in Hinduism.

Every year this festival comes, on this day people distribute sweets to each other in Makar Sankranti and give messages to behave sweetest throughout the year. In Hinduism, People also bath in the Ganga on the day of Makar Sankranti. But is this all the meaning of these festivals? Or were there any scientific reasons behind this for our ancestors?

Actually Makar Sankranti is festival of Sun. You will be surprised to know that in Hinduism, bating in the river on every sun festival and offering water to the sun on every river festival is a hindrance. Sun, Capricorn, Sangam beach(two river coming together), bathing in river and eating Kichadi in the month of Magh, the scientific reason for this is also explained in our Puran.

"Puran"today's Hindu has forgotten in the name of superstition.

Makar Sankranti is the festival of Sun entry into Capricorn in the month of Magh.

SUN'S ENTRY INTO CAPRICORN MEANS -

Everyone knows that there are two part of Universe. One giving oxygen and another one giving carbon dioxide. Oxygen giving part are life - enhancing and carbon - dioxide part are life - killing. Among the planets, Jupiter is the best source of life-enhancing elements. Despite Venus being gentle, except the twelfth part of Asuri of Ravi i.e. Sun, the best is life - enhancing. The black spot seen on the Sun and the radiations emanating from that area have destructive effects. In the rest of the days, especially on the moon is life - enhancing for life. That's why there are two methods of calculating according to Sun and Moon. Similarly, a nature of each confirmed in our scriptures.

WHEN LIFE - ENHANCING PLANETS CREATE OBSTACLES FOR LIFE - DESTROYING PLANETS, THEY ARE CONSIDERED AUSPICIOUS TIMES IN OUR SCRIPTURES. A SIMILAR COINCIDENCE TAKES PLACE DURING MAKAR SANKRANTI.

Saturn is considered the lord of Capricorn. When the life - enhancing Sun enters the Capricorn sign of life - destroying Saturn. And spots its effect then that time brings the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti.

One such reference is of Sangam coast. Sangam is about the relationship between bathing on the banks and offering water to the Sun. A river is not just a stream of water. The river is a different live hood. Where the water flow coming from two different routes naturally meet each other. We called that place Sangam. when the water currents at the confluence, an energy is generated, the waves bounce. The results of which is the chemical process of oxidation and the amount of oxygen in the water increases.

In our ancient texts, bathing at the Sangam beach is considered best. Crores of people take bath together on the Makar Sankranti. Due to which the stream in the river has scientific importance. From the day of Makar Sankranti, there is an increase in the effect of Sun in India. At the same time, the process of vapor together in the river is helpful to each other. Both affect the temperature of the weather.

A day before this, Lohri is celebrated all over Panjab at the same time. The effect of mutual coordination of these activities is that the cold starts decreasing in the plains of North India. In the Hindu religion, farewell to winter is also widely celebrated by lighting a fire by burning Holi in whole India.

The weather starts changing only after Maker Sankranti. Whenever the weather changes, it is necessary to change the diet for health, so it is customary to eat Khichadi (which make by rice, spices and other things) on the day of Makar Sankranti.

THAT'S WHY PROUD TO BE A HINDU BECAUSE OUR FOREFATHERS WERE KNOWLEDGEABLE OF MORE ADVANCED EDUCATION THAN TODAY'S SCIENCE. AT THAT TIME THE WORD SCIENCE WAS NOT EVEN KNOWN IN THE WORLD, THEN OUR SAGES HAD REVEALED THE SECRETS OF THE UNIVERSE.

THE ETERNAL TRUTH IS THE UNCHANGING TRUTH.
