Importance of applying vermilion

                             

In Hinduism, a married woman applies vermilion on her forehead.  But there is a scientific reason behind it, which very few people know. After all, why do Hindu women put vermilion on their forehead?

In the Indian Vedic tradition, after marriage, it is mandatory for every married Hindu woman to adorn vermilion in the demand. In modern times, Kumkum has replaced vermilion. There are both religious and scientific reasons behind this. And both are beneficial for women's health. Perhaps our ancestors whom we call illiterate were actually more educated than us and lived in the modern era. Actually, the place where a woman applies vermilion after marriage, there is an important gland at that place which is called Brahmarandhra. This gland is very sensitive. This gland is from the middle of the head till the place where the forehead starts. Vermilion is applied at this place because vermilion is the only metal that along with being liquid, acts as a medicine for this gland. It is only after marriage that the life of women becomes stressful in which there is less sleep, family tension and many other things. Due to which women remain unhealthy, then the vermilion used in demand and the amount of mercury present in it helps women to remain stress free and always keeps the brain in a state of consciousness, hence vermilion is filled in demand. The place where women apply vermilion is above the delicate place called Brahmarandhra and Adhami. It is also scientifically believed that this place of women is very delicate as compared to men. The elements present in vermilion control the electrical energy present in the body from this place. It also prevents external side effects. Apart from this, there is another reason for applying vermilion with religious reverence, when Ram devotee Hanuman ji saw Mother Sita applying vermilion, then asked Sita Mata, why do you apply vermilion? Then Mother Sita replied to Hanuman ji that by applying vermilion in the demand, the husband's life is long and the love between husband and wife increases.
